WHAT THE HECK IS AN "ELLYGEH"?
MAKING STORIES YOU CAN WEAR
ELLYGEH is a Family-run clothing brand, and also the online alias name for this guy named Elly.
Elly is a kid born in the 80's, who grew up in the 90's. Elly was (and still is) in love with that era of cartoons, anime, music, games, and dumb stuff.
As a teenager, Elly fell in love with skateboarding. He considered himself a skateboarder, although he wasn't very good at it. Elly was actually more interested in the skateboarding culture and how fashion (or anti-fashion) is portrayed in the skate community and how it has changed in the last decade.
This brand has the ultimate goal of uniting Elly's childhood love of the 80's and 90's vibes and aesthetic into today's skate fashion with art and stories in clothing.
Story is in everything in our lives, it's what teaches us, what motivates us, what inspires us. It's sometimes very conscious and most of the time very unconscious.
We want to tell relatable stories expressed through illustrations, comics and/or patterns in casual wear and other products. Stories about nostalgia, about belonging, friendship and about doing the hard work to achieve your goals and dreams in life.
You're not gonna find really edgy and dark stuff here (unless it's a parody of it). What you will find here though is a celebration of nostalgia, hard work, dedication, and a lot of Love & Respect (To quote and steal straight from the Easy Allies).
It's all about inclusiveness and being jolly. Except when you're a jerk. If you're a jerk, you will be called out so you can become better. Because nobody wants to be around jerks.
All the shirts here are ringspun, combed, all natural cotton. If that sounds like gibberish to you, it just means that the shirts I use are soft, comfortable, breathable, and smooth compared to most shirts out there. Yes, you will be paying more, but you'll also be paying for a better quality shirt, better print quality, and some extra love with every shirt. We are not willing to sell you cheaper clothing to sacrifice the quality of what we do and what you receive.
STILL, WHAT DOES "GEH" MEAN?
We could say that GEH is an abbreviation for something fancy, or that it's an expression of a yell of joy that represents excitement, and being jolly, which really is what we're all about.
But at the end of the day, it was just a stupid thing Elly and his buddy Guigo used to yell at each other when teenagers, after watching a South Park episode with a Christina Aguillera dog creature Cartman saw when on Ritalin.
